The word tech/technology sounds very big and scary to some people. Do you think so?

You probably might have difficulty navigating your way around the tech space especially if you want to switch career paths.

Then, this article is for you. You will learn;

  • What is Tech and what it is about
  • Everyday examples of technology

Tech/Technology is the application of facts, knowledge, ideas to real-life experience. britannica.com/technology/technology

The definition is apt, not ambiguous, with the above definition, you will agree that for something to be achieved, protocols/processes need to be observed. Such protocols/processes will need other people's intellect, time. That tells you, Tech is not a stand-alone.

Those processes could be; an idea person, a designer, someone who manages and is good at executing ideas.

For instance, you want to own a restaurant, you like food yeah 😃? Can you mention who you will need on your team? The steps that are involved. Owning a restaurant at the end is technology. Oh yes, you heard me right, because you will need the services of different people.

The images above explain what we have been discussing.

Figure 1, you will need someone who will be responsible for purchases, what is necessary and not, someone who can figure out the best steps to take.

Figure 2, You will need a surveyor, an engineer to map out the plan, give you the befitting structure.

Figure 3, you will need someone to design how your restaurant will look like, the inside and outside.

Tech is built on something.

In summary, when next you hear the word tech/technology, it means that gate you see sometimes, the tarred road, the microphone, the structure of the house you live in.

The ability to read and observe grammatical errors is tech. The ability to initiate ideas, the ability to express yourself and ideas on paper, either by painting or drawing is tech.

Technology is for everyone 🙂

What were you told about Tech? Feel free to drop your feedback in the comment section.

In our next article, we shall be discussing, How can you contribute to the tech ecosystem in your current profession?
