Zetachain Africa Ominchian Summit

Every project has both a technical aspect and a coin/token aspect. Most of the time, people focus more on the token aspect, forgetting that the technical side is crucial for the token’s success. Often, no proper research is done, and people just flood into communities asking "when airdrop?" or "when listing?". Ultimately, you have to choose what works best for you.

The technology behind a project makes it unique and affects the longevity of the coin or token. This is why I like to talk about Zetachain, especially the tech part of the project. ZetaChain’s mission is to provide universal access, simplicity, and utility across any blockchain.

Imagine being able to access all your funds with one card or from one link. The tech behind Zetachain lets you access your digital funds in one place. Just connect your wallet, give approval, and voila, you can perform any transaction on the platform. You can swap your ETH to BNB or any coin to another at a very cheap rate. You can bridge and do any transaction you want.

Multichain

Zetachain solves the multichain interoperability challenge. Before this solution, there was the problem of lost funds. For example, someone might want to send USDT from a private wallet to a centralized wallet but forgets to copy the right chain. This could lead to lost funds. On Zetachain, you can do whatever you want with lower gas fees.

Now you understand that ZetaChain is the first universal L1 blockchain. It serves as the base layer of the decentralized internet, providing a platform for global access, simplicity, and utility across any blockchain. Zetachain’s Omnichain Smart Contracts on the Universal EVM are built for chain abstraction across the entire crypto ecosystem. ZetaChain can connect to any blockchain, from Ethereum and Cosmos to Bitcoin and beyond, enabling unified liquidity, user experience, and data from a single place. Universal Apps on ZetaChain are future-proof and compatible with both existing and new chain integrations. With a proposed Universal Proof-of-Stake capability, ZetaChain supports staking of assets like native Bitcoin and Ethereum in exchange for rewards, enabling economic security.

It’s interesting to know that Zetachain launched an Ecosystem Growth Program, committing 5% of the total ZETA supply to grants for developers building innovative projects. 1% (21 million ZETA) is allocated for impactful projects that use ZetaChain to unlock the Bitcoin network. Universal Chain Abstraction is ZetaChain's core goal, providing a way to abstract blockchain technology from user experience, and Africa is included in its plans.

Zetachain Africa Volunteers

Zetachain is open to everyone. Some Africans who contribute to Zetachain’s ecosystem organized a meetup to discuss Zetachain’s purpose and how to build on it. The summit focused on "Omnichain Abstraction" with the theme "Inspiring Creatives to Build Web3 Solutions for Africa." It featured amazing speakers discussing smart contracts, building dapps, and more. The panel session included core blockchain developers, non-technical experts, and a software developer who shared practical steps to contribute. The audience also learned how to build on Zetachain.

Of course, ZETA was given away as prizes to first-timers and those who answered questions correctly.

In a previous article, I talked about Africans adopting blockchain education. Many people lack basic knowledge about the blockchain ecosystem. During the panel session, panelists shared fantastic ideas for Africa’s growth. The African ambassador informed everyone about Zetachain’s Ecosystem Growth Program and how to benefit from it. He stated that all proposals for new chain integrations are welcome. You don’t have to be a blockchain expert to start investigating and analyzing a new chain’s impact on the ZetaChain ecosystem. Anyone can get involved by posting an issue for discussion on GitHub.

Zetachain Ecosystem Contribution

Together, these developments aim to make all of crypto accessible to users, regardless of where they start or spend their journey. Zetachain is here to stay because the team got the tech part right. However, we hope to see more utilities on the platform.

What else do you want to know about Zetachain? Feel free to drop your comments, and I will write about it.

Follow ZetaChain on Twitter @zetablockchain and the Zetachain Africa Twitter and join the conversation on Discord and Telegram. Reach out to partnerships@zetachain.com if you’re building on top of ZetaChain.
